STUDENT MINISTRY
Jim grew up in Montezuma, Georgia. He has been married to his best friend, Jennifer, since 1998. They have one daughter Savannah, who lives in southeast Georgia with her husband Johnathan, Jim earned a bachelor’s and a master’s degree from Georgia Southwestern State University in special education and a Master of Arts in Christian Education from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. Jim loves chocolate, peanut butter, bacon, repurposing and refinishing furniture and spending time with his friends, family and their students. Jim has a heart for building relationships with students, their parents, and equipping them to be life-long disciples who make disciples.
Friendship students
The heart of Friendship Student Ministry is centered around loving God and loving others. Students are called to have an active role in fulfilling the Great Commission in the local church, in their communities and in their schools. Numerous ministry settings are provided for middle school, high school and college students each week. Activities are designed to teach, equip, and mentor students as well as provide opportunities to put biblical principles of discipleship into action. Students meet each Sunday for Sunday School/Small Groups at 9:45 AM and for Student Worship from 5:30 PM - 7:00 PM on designated Sundays. (Please see friendshipbaptist.com for church-wide Sunday evening service dates.) Student Worship is a great opportunity to build relationships, play games and worship with other students. Students also meet on Wednesdays from 6:15 PM - 7:15 PM for Bible Study. Opportunities to attend camps, retreats and mission activities are also provided throughout the year.
