OUR 2012 VISION:  PRAY & REACH

I am so grateful for a new year of opportunities to serve the Lord with you as we present Jesus Christ to our community.  Our theme verses for this endeavor are Matthew 9:37-38.

First, the Time is Now to pray and reach others with the life-changing message of Christ.  Matthew 9:37 reads, “The harvest truly IS plenteous” (right now).  Jesus ministered to the physical needs of people all around Him (the lame, the blind, and the hungry).  Friendship’s Men’s Ministry meeting the physical needs of the military through the Airman’s Attic.  Friendship’s volunteers bag groceries and counsel with the hungry at the CSM here in Warner Robins.  Friendship’s Women on Mission sew garments for the needy.  Help us form more search teams by getting involved in G.R.O.W. Outreach one Tuesday night a month at 6:30 PM.   (personal visits, phone calls, cards & letters).

Jesus was “moved with compassion” (Matt. 9: 36).  Jesus loved sinners more than He hated their sin!  Luke 19:10 “For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.”  Are we moved with compassion?  Psalm 142:4 says, “No man cared for my soul.”  Romans 5:8 “But God commendeth His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”

Second, the Need is Great!  Matthew 9:37 continues, “But the laborers are few.”  Matthew 4:19 “Jesus saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.” The problem is this:  There is too much to do and too few to do it!  May I count on you?  Romans 1:16 “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ:  for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth.”  Let this be your clarion call in 2012 as we link arms and move forward to help men, women, boys and girls in great need of a Savior.

Third, the Plan is Prayer! “Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest” (Matt. 9:38).  Adrian Rogers once said, “We spend more time praying for the saved that are sick than for the unsaved that are lost…more time trying to keep the saints out of Heaven than we do praying to keep the lost out of Hell.”  How does the plan of prayer play out in a practical way for each of us?  Join our Intercessory Prayer Ministry—they meet on Saturday mornings at 9:30 AM here in the Sanctuary.  Sign-up to pray in the Prayer Room during our worship services every Sunday morning for a few minutes!  Come to Men’s Prayer Time on Sunday mornings at 9 AM in the Church Office Lobby.  Come to Prayer Meeting on Wednesday nights at 6:30 PM.  When we pray, we are punching holes in the darkness of sin that hangs over our area.

We would be so pleased if you would join us in accomplishing the work that the Lord has given us here in His church.  Please plan to worship with us this week.  It would be our honor to know you better.
